Fall porch decorating is always a fun way to brighten up the exteriors of your Chelsea AL homes as the new season settles in. We have a bunch of home designs that are perfect for showing off your fall decorations. From simple decorations to over the top, there’s something for everyone and every budget. Here are some ideas to get your porch and front steps ready for some autumn splendor.
If you don’t want to spend a lot of time and money, but still want to add some simple decorations beyond a wreath for the front door, find some similarly sized pumpkins and place one on each step if you have front steps leading up to your front door. If you only have one step, but it’s wide enough, you could group three together in one corner. Look for smaller pumpkins that are round and more similar in size and shape to a melon, preferably with a bit of the stalk still attached.
If you keep your front porch fairly simple and traditional, another way to add some easy autumn style is to place two rustic wood chairs side by side and put a large, traditional pumpkin in each. You’ll be surprised at how effective it is. Alternatively, you could put a basket of chrysanthemums in each chair instead. In fact a nice basket filled with a mix of colorful seasonal flowers like zinnias can be placed on a chair or on a table if you have one for a nice touch of color.
For those who like to go bolder, stick with the rustic theme by finding an old shallow wheelbarrow to place by your front step or on your porch. Then fill it to the brim with miniature pumpkins or do a mix of gourds, larger pumpkins and mini pumpkins. You can choose to stick to one color or mix and match for more depth of color.
Make use of steps by creating a multi-level display. Find a large pot of red chrysanthemums and surround it with large, decorative baskets that you fill with pumpkins and bundles of wheatsheaves. Then add a few smaller gourds or even lanterns around the base of the flower pot and some of the baskets to create a display that really draws the eye up and down.
If you want an abundant display, grab a mix of pumpkins and gourds in a full range of sizes and really stack them up along the stairs up to the front door for an almost overflowing display. For something a little different than the usual chrysanthemums that often get mixed into this display, look for ivy instead, even if you go with faux ivy. You can weave it through the display and fill in gaps or create patches of contrasting green for a display that really stands out.
A wreath on the door and a pumpkin or two on the steps is always fine for those who prefer minimalism, but if you want to go bolder, feel free to mix and match and add in a few baskets, lanterns and vintage pieces to display your flowers and pumpkins. No matter what you choose, your Chelsea AL homes will be ready for the fall festivities.Tags: homebuilder in chelsea al, homes for sale in Chelsea AL, new homes in Chelsea AL
